  • Check it out! I'm posting 4 days after the last one! I just got back from visiting Rachel in Rocky Mount, NC. She didn't know I was coming. She about hyperventilated. It was pretty exciting. Some of the instructors at the acadamy didn't want to teach on Easter weekend so I decided to go for a little suprise visit! I was telling my sister the reason I hated vacation was because it takes you from reality but then you have to go back. Don't get me wrong, there are way more good things about vacation, it's just so hard to go back sometimes. Especially when I'm visiting Rachel. Oh well. Such is life.

  • Well, Fire Fighter 1 is complete and Fire Fighter 2 has begun. Looking back it's gone pretty fast. I've learned so much in the past three months. It's so much fun! Less than three months and I'll be done with my training!

I've been working three days a week with a lawn care company. I like it SOOOO much better than working at the furniture store. Some of the work is hard but I enjoy it. The schedule is good and I get plenty of time to study. My boss used to attend our church and we played softball together for a while. He's a good man to work for. He's pretty flexible too. I asked for some time off this summer and it wasn't a problem at all. Yes, most of that time off I'll be with Rachel! She's pretty amazing you know.  For whoever reads this, hope things are well with you.

  • Ok, ok. So I'm pretty bad at updating my xanga. 8 more days and it would have been a month since I last put anything on here. Oh well.

I had a blast at Joey's wedding! No, I don't have many pictures and the ones I have are not so good. Weird to think that our very own Joey is married. Hmmm. When we were rehearsing on Friday night, I found out that I was leading for two worship songs. Did Derek know this? NO! I didn't even know one of the songs. It wasn't really anyone's fault and everything worked out fine. I learned the song Friday night and the Lord was gracious to allow me to remember it when the time came to sing. All in all, it was great!

And to make things the best, Rachel was with me the whole weekend! We drove to and from Fort Worth, TX with Rick and spent some good time together Sunday afternoon. I loved it! It's going to be a while until I see her again but the Lord was good to give us that time together. I miss her alot but praise the Lord for cell phones!

  • It's kinda hard to believe we're almost 2 months into 2007. Looking back, the time seems to have gone really fast. I'm enjoying fire training. We're getting into some good stuff. This past Saturday we learned ventilation and forcible entry. Basically, if I don't make it as a fire fighter I could become a thief. With fire fighter tools, you can pretty much break into or go through anything. Next week we will be learning vehicle extrication. Taking cars apart in order to rescue people.

God is so good. He continually puts circumstances in my life to make me rely on Him. He knows that I can become complacent when life is always smooth. There are some things going on regarding my state testing and the fact that I was homeschooled. It's a little frustrating but that's ok. God is reminding me to trust Him and be secure in the fact that He has lead me this far. I would appreciate your prayers though!

And the best part of all. In 10 days I will be seeing my girl! You may be thinking, "he's counting the days?" Umm, are you kidding me?! I can hardly wait!!
